Amazon sells billions of products online. But they put millions of new items in the rubbish every year. This was on ITV News in the UK.
There were new smart TVs, laptops, expensive headphones, computers, books and thousands of new face masks. Amazon puts the items in bins. Then trucks take the rubbish away.
Many people are not happy about this. Amazon could give these items to poor people.
Many sellers keep their products at Amazon. They have to pay Amazon for this. But they don't sell all their items.
These items stay at Amazon. But sellers don't want to pay extra money. They throw the items away. This is the easy option.
Environment organisation Greenpeace is unhappy with Amazon. They say it's wrong to throw away new products. Greenpeace wants this to stop. But companies won't stop it.
Greenpeace wants new rules. It wants the government to stop Amazon.
