AI is the word of the year - 1st Jan 2024
Sensations English chose AI - Artificial Intelligence - as the word of 2023. AI started in the 1950s. In 2023 it was important. That was because of ChatGPT 4. ChatGPT 4 is a kind of machine assistant.
These days, AI works with real information. For example, it looks at books, paintings and films. It uses this information. The data goes into the software. The AI programme reads it. It can make stories, jokes, videos in seconds. And they're good.
ChatGPT 4 arrived in spring 2023. Then, some technology experts became worried. Elon Musk, for example, was worried about the future.
There are problems with AI. Writers in Hollywood went on strike in 2023. The strike was about AI and money. Using AI can be good for some artists. But it can do people's jobs, too.
Will journalists, business people and teachers lose their jobs? Who knows? But one thing's sure. AI's already changing our lives.
