Finnish people are the happiest - 14th April 2025
People in Finland are happy, says a United Nations study. The study's about World Happiness. In fact, Finland's the best country for happiness in the world. Even countries like Denmark and Sweden aren't as happy. And Finland's at the top for the eighth year.
In the study, people have to answer questions about their lives. They give marks from 0-10. There are 100,000 people in the study, from 140 countries. The results come out every year, on 20th March.
The questions ask about different things, like having close friends. Some questions ask how free people feel. Other questions ask how safe and comfortable people feel.
This report shows it's good to spend time with others, for example eating together. In the US, people often eat alone these days.
In 2013, the top 10 countries were in the West. Now, only seven are.
