World's first hydrogen building - 7th October 2024
Cairo has new plans for a special building. It'll be in a city outside Cairo. The new office building will have 43 floors. It'll cost $1 billion to build. What makes these plans so interesting? The building will use hydrogen and the sun's energy. It won't use fossil fuels like gas or oil.
The name of the tower is Forbes International Tower. The developers, Magnom, have big ideas. They don't just want the energy to be different. They want to use special materials. These will be clean and green, from start to finish. There'll be water recycling there too. This is important because the area near Cairo is very dry.
Magnom thinks they can make a clean building. But it depends. Some people aren't sure about the technology. Using hydrogen on a big building is new. Magnom's hoping they can, and they're looking at the plans now. They hope to finish the tower in 2030.
