Sydney gets upset - 3rd April 2023
Microsoft's changing its artificial intelligence (AI) system. Its name is Sydney. But something went wrong.
Sydney started giving bad answers. It was rude to journalists too. Sydney told one of the journalists to get a divorce. Sydney called another journalist "evil".
Microsoft said that Sydney can't have long conversations. Long conversations will confuse the chatbot. That's why Sydney was rude. Now, users can only ask 5 questions at one time or 50 a day. After 50 questions, Sydney will stop and reset.
OpenAI is an artificial intelligence company. It makes chatbots study trillions of words on the internet. Chatbots use this language. They can talk like humans. But they can't understand.
Microsoft wanted a chatbot like Google's Bard. Google had problems with Bard too. Bard gave the wrong information about the James Webb Space Telescope. Bard said the telescope took the first picture of a planet outside of the Milky Way. This isn't true.
