Business laws change in Cuba - 6th September 2021
Cuba is a small country in the Caribbean Sea. Cuba is communist. The government owns businesses there. But now things are changing. President Miguel Díaz-Canel says it's okay for new companies to start. They will not belong to the Cuban government.
Cuba is usually quiet. But the situation in Cuba is bad. People have no money and they are hungry. Prices for food and medicine are high. People are angry with the government. Last month, thousands of people walked on the streets. One person died.
There are different reasons for the problems. Covid-19 stopped tourists travelling to Cuba. Tourists bring money into the country. And Covid-19 is serious there too. Lots of people died. And Cuba grows sugar, but this year it didn't grow well.
