2021 is a difficult time for many people. The coronavirus pandemic is a problem. But there is some good news too. People are helping each other. Now, we have some amazing new inventions.
In India, Lakshmi Menon is helping hospitals. She is making hospital beds. The beds are for people with coronavirus. Menon's beds are cheap. And they are good for the environment too. She uses plastic rubbish in her beds. The plastic rubbish comes from factories.
There is something unusual in East Africa too. Farmers in East Africa have a big problem with locusts. Locusts are a kind of insect. The locusts eat farmers' plants. But a company in Kenya had an amazing idea. The company uses the locusts. They make the locusts into food for farm animals.
There are other new things to eat too. UK hospitals are trying a new invention. They are using a tiny camera. It is in a tablet! The camera goes through your body. It takes photos inside the body. Doctors look at the photos. They look for dangerous diseases. This camera can save lives.
In the US, scientists are making meat with new technology! This meat is not from animals. The scientists make the meat in a laboratory. They grow chicken meat without a chicken. They call it 'clean' meat. In 2021, you can buy 'clean' meat for the first time. People can buy 'clean' chicken in Singapore.
There are still lots of problems in the world in 2021. But people are trying to find answers to these problems. And some fantastic ideas are helping people.
