Scientists in the UK are making blood. They hope to save young people's lives. We all need blood in our bodies. But some people's bodies can't make all the ingredients in blood. They have blood diseases.

There are different types of blood. People need blood from someone with the same type. This new blood is good news. It can help people with blood diseases.
Scientists start with blood from a person. They use machines to take 'stem cells' from the blood. They grow new blood from this real blood.
All the laboratory blood is new. Doctors can use it for four months. It'll help people with blood diseases.
Lots of people need lab blood. Scientists say it will take 5 to 10 years to make enough.
