Pop star takes a break - 17th August 2026

Ariana Grande's told her fans that she's taking a break from public life. The singer and actor's "stepping back" at the end of her concert tour.

People were already asking questions about Grande's health. Then, she shared her new music video, which was made for her song Petal.

The singer looks extremely thin in the video. Instagram received a lot of user comments about Grande's weight in the video.

After this feedback, a community note was put on the post. It provided information about helplines for eating disorders.

Grande stopped her concert in Chicago to speak to fans. She told them that she'd made her plan "a long time ago". She didn't make the decision after the Instagram post. She added that "human beings do need a break sometimes."

Petal's about the toxic culture of fame. The music video's about a young Hollywood actress. Negative comments put too much pressure on her. This could be a message from Grande.

The star's worked through several difficult life moments. Her ex-boyfriend died in 2018. She also got divorced in 2024. Fans have posted messages of support on social media, with the hashtag #WeLoveYouAriana.

Grande's tour ends in London on 1st September. She's cancelled all work plans after that date.
