England have won their second international football trophy, exactly 56 years after the first.

The well-known men's 1966 World Cup win and England's women's 2022 EUROs victory both took place at London's Wembley stadium.

England's 'Lionesses' took on Germany, who've won the European Championship 8 times before.

A stadium crowd of more than 87,000 saw an exciting game draw 1-1 at the final whistle.

In extra time, England striker Chloe Kelly pushed England ahead.

The renewed popularity of women's football was seen in the tournament's full stadiums.

Fans were delighted with the result.

England claims to be 'the home of football', and supporters regularly chant "Football's coming home" at international matches.

However, until the lionesses recent win, fans had been waiting 56 years.

Women's football's having positive impacts on girls' sport.

Parent Charlie Bunting brought Harriet, aged 5, to the final.

Some, however, were less than thrilled.

A German request for a penalty was rejected, which took away a chance for a first-half goal - and potentially the match.

Although they'd hoped for a win, Germany's fans remained positive.

Yeah, obviously, I'm a bit disappointed, but it is what it is."
