First all-woman spacewalk - B1

First all-woman spacewalk - 23rd October 2019

Christina Koch and Jessica Meir are US astronauts. On Friday, they took a new step. They did a spacewalk together.

It was the first all-female spacewalk.

To begin their mission, they checked their suits and straps were safe. After that, they moved to replace a battery.

The first all-female spacewalk was planned for March but it was cancelled. This was because the International Space Station didn't have two medium-sized space suits.

The US first sent a woman into space in 1983. Now, it has the most woman astronauts.
