Liverpool champions after 30 years - 1st July 2020
Liverpool are celebrating being crowned UK Premier League champions for the first time in three decades.
Ignoring social-distancing guidelines, ecstatic fans gathered to celebrate outside Liverpool's famous Anfield Stadium.
Fan1: "Oh my God, I can't even say how I feel. Amazing, amazing, amazing."
Fan 2: "Amazing, on top of the world fella."
Victory was declared following Manchester City's dramatic loss to Chelsea on Thursday night. City were the last team in with a chance of beating Liverpool to the title after Liverpool had thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 the previous day.
Manchester City desperately needed a win at Chelsea to keep their championship dreams alive, but their defeat 2-1 saw Liverpool claim the crown.
With 7 games still left to play in the season, Liverpool's success also sets a new record.
Speaking after the match, Liverpool Manager Jürgen Klopp had this to say.
Klopp: "It's massive. It's massive. What we love is when you have a successful football club in your city, it always gives the city a lift. And I think at this time all cities in the world can need a lift, Liverpool as well, and I am really happy about that."
