'Parasite' in paradise - 12th February 2020

Stars came to the Oscars ceremony in Hollywood on Sunday. They walked down the red carpet at the world's most famous film awards. Everyone was nervous and excited about the awards.

The South Korean film 'Parasite' won the Academy Award for Best Film. The film is in Korean, not English. It is the first movie not in the English language to win this Oscar.

The film's producer, Kwak Sin-ae, accepted the award. Kwak Sin-ae: "I feel like a very opportune moment in history is happening right now."

The film was directed and written by Bong Joon-ho. He received two awards: Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. Parasite earned a total of four Oscars on the night.

Joaquin Phoenix was awarded Best Actor for his part in 'Joker'. The Best Actress award went to Renée Zellweger. She impressed with her lead performance in 'Judy'. Brad Pitt's talent was also recognised with an Oscar. He won Best Supporting Actor for the film: Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.
