Barcelona concert for plants - B1

Plants enjoy opera - 17th July 2020

The opera house in Barcelona has just opened again. It has been closed for 3 months. But the first concert was unusual.

There were no people in the audience, but 2,292 plants instead. Each plant had its own ticket and seat.

The happy plants listened to 4 musicians, who were playing a famous piece of music by Giacomo Puccini.

Spanish artist, Eugenio Ampudia, came up with the idea because he is interested in humans and plants. So he put plants in a public place to see the effect.

After the concert, the organisers sent the plants to the Clinic de Barcelona. The plants were a present for the staff's hard work.

Now, you can watch the concert online. Ampudia wants people, and other plants, to enjoy the concert.
