Barcelona concert for plants - B2

Exclusive performance for nature - 17th July 2020

Barcelona's opera house, El Liceo, has accomplished a thought-provoking opening show following its temporary closure.

The spectators were a huge gathering of plants, placed on individual seats and given their own tickets.

Moving their leaves in obvious pleasure, the plants listened as a piece by Giacomo Puccini, known as 'Crisantemi' was played for them.

Spanish artist, Eugenio Ampudia, developed the show to analyse the connection between people and wildlife and further investigate the effects of the pandemic lockdown.

Once the opera was over, the plants were given away to the Clinic de Barcelona as a thank you for battling the pandemic.

Reluctant to see other plants miss out, Ampudia has uploaded the show online. He is extremely keen for everyone, and everything, to enjoy it.
