A different kind of restaurant - 5th January 2024 View All
This isn't a normal restaurant. Fiuto is a restaurant for dogs. The food is similar to human food. But there isn't any salt or oil in it.
Luca Grammatico is the chef.
Luca Grammatico: "The menu's been created in a very similar way to the human menu. It's made up of things that we can normally eat. Of course, we've tried to flavour it without using any spices, salts or oils, trying to make it look like a cooked meal by presenting it in a slightly gourmet form."
At this unusual restaurant, dogs eat from special bowls. And it's OK if they make a mess too.
It's not very noisy. The dogs are eating. They really like their food.
Maria Gliottone is happy. She can eat with her dog, Nala. Nala's friend Douglas is here too.
Maria Gliottone: "This is a very good thing. Because when we go to restaurants with her, she always wants to eat from our plates. So here, everything's more comfortable."
Food on the dog menu costs from 8 to 20 euros. Each dog has its own space to eat. Most dogs don't want to share food.
There's a comfortable bed for each dog too. They can relax there.
For Romina Lanza, the price is OK. But each dog owner will make their own choice.
Romina Lanza: "It's a personal choice to come. It's an option that's available. People can easily come or not come. But it's definitely an opportunity for those who want to do so. No, I don't see anything wrong with it, honestly."
Some owners bring their dogs on special days, like birthdays. The dog gets a present from the restaurant. What a nice surprise!
