Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are important people in the British Royal Family. They have surprised the world. They are going to end their high-level work in the Royal Family.
Prince Harry and Meghan hadn't told the Royal Family about the news. The Royal Family are surprised and "hurt" by this and by their decision. Buckingham Palace were planning new roles with Harry and Meghan.
The Duke and Duchess have different ideas from the Royal Family. They thought carefully about their decision. They want to be in the Royal Family but have personal freedom. They are planning a more normal family life by spending half the year in North America.
They won't talk to national newspapers because they often attack Meghan. They plan to speak to small news organisations and young reporters.
Harry and Meghan's news makes their future unclear. It also creates a problem for the Royal Family. They wanted them to be part of the Royal Family's new identity. The Palace are talking to the government about the problems. If the plans don't work, Harry and Meghan might leave the Royal Family.
