Black Panther star Boseman dies - 9th September 2020

Chadwick Boseman, who starred in superhero movie "Black Panther", has died from cancer.

The announcement came as a shock to millions of fans. He had never discussed his condition in public. His acting career had continued during his treatment and between operations.

Boseman played many iconic roles, including American baseball player Jackie Robinson in the film "42" and soul singer James Brown in "Get On Up". He will best be remembered, however, for his role as King T'Challa in "Black Panther": the first superhero movie with an all black cast.

Boseman believed that "Black Panther" highlighted a lot of the changes taking place in the film industry.

Boseman: "You can see, in the industry, that people are starting to want to put their dollars, put their money where their mouth is, behind films where we are the leads, or we are the directors and producers and what not. So I think that is a change. But it's not just 'Black Panther'. 'Black Panther' was just the culminating moment."
