Many people slept outside in the rain. They wanted the best view. They're happy to see the parade.

Helen Calvert: "Honour and a privilege to have been here."

Shahenez Suleman: "Oh Gosh I'm speechless and amazed, I've got the the best seat as well, to take the best pictures. Just can't see, when you see, it's real, isn't it, seeing him, in the carriage."

But not everyone wants a king. Some people want to vote for a president. They want the UK to be a republic.

Kieran Smith: "I just think in the 21st century it's abhorrent that we've got a monarchy that's not democratically elected in. That we aren't part of a republic."

King Charles III and Queen Camilla returned to Buckingham Palace in the gold state coach. It's a gold carriage. It's pulled by horses. Prince William and Princess Catherine and their children travelled behind them. 4,000 soldiers were with them. Lots of people showed their love for the king.

The king and queen stood on the palace balcony. They waved at the people. Planes flew over Buckingham Palace. The people cheered for the king and queen.
