Busy honey bees in France - 17th June 2020

This beekeeper is pleased. 2020 has started well for honey bees in France.

In spring, there were high temperatures and pollution was low. Flowers came out early in the north of France so bees made a lot of honey.

But beekeepers in the south of France have experienced problems. They've collected less honey than those in the north. There wasn't much rain, so plants dried out. With fewer flowers, the bees made less honey.

Beekeepers in the north still have some difficulties. They can't sell their honey because Covid-19 has closed most companies. But when businesses open again, the beekeepers will have plenty of jars of honey to sell.
