Sushi lickers on the loose - 27th February 2023

Japan's sushi restaurants have been hit by a new problem: 'sushi lickers'. A group of Japanese boys' anti-social behaviour in sushi restaurants has been caught on camera.

They've been licking soy sauce bottles and biting other people's sushi. They've also been putting excessive amounts of wasabi on other diners' food.

These incidents have become known as 'sushi terrorism'. They've become hugely popular on social media, with the videos receiving 40 million views.

One of the most famous videos shows a young man causing chaos in a sushi restaurant called Sushiro. The video's caused significant problems for the restaurant chain, with its stock price decreasing by 5 percent after the video went viral.

This anti-social behaviour's deeply angered the Japanese public, who value cleanliness and hygiene. Many people have highlighted that the boys' actions could be dangerous as some people are allergic to wasabi.

The incidents have led to a debate about what action should be taken against the 'sushi lickers'. Restaurants have made formal complaints and even plan to take legal action against these misbehaving youngsters.

Some people support the restaurants' actions. They believe it's the only way for the sushi lickers to understand how serious this behaviour is. However, others are convinced that there are better ways to teach them a lesson.

Although some sushi lickers have apologised for their actions, this hasn't calmed people's anger. Many people are tweeting #saveSushiro to show support for the restaurants. After a week, this helped its stock market price to recover its value.
