2023: technology, culture and money - 25th December 2023

There was important news about technology in 2023. Microsoft and Google wrote new computer programs. These programs used AI (artificial intelligence). But there were problems. The AI made mistakes. One AI program didn't like a news reporter. It said bad things to him.

Scientists and doctors were very happy. Vaccines are stopping malaria in Africa. This is saving people's lives. And in Qatar, two students won a technology prize. They made food with a 3D printer. The printer made carrots.

Rich celebrities were in the news too. Singer Beyoncé made history. She won the most Grammy awards ever. And Justin Bieber sold his old songs. A big music company bought them for $200 million.

There was lots of other money news too. Croatia changed its money. Now, it uses the euro. And 11 cleaners in India won the lottery. They are sharing the prize. The British Museum lost lots of expensive things. A worker stole 2,000 items from the museum.

New Zealand made a new law. The government is stopping cigarette sales. If your date of birth is after 2008, you can't buy cigarettes. So young people will never smoke.

There were other good news stories too. In Montana, USA, some young people changed government plans. The state gave help to oil companies. Now, this has to stop.
