Hearts for Covid - 26th April 2021
In London, people are decorating a huge wall with thousands of hearts. They are doing this in memory of people who have died in the coronavirus pandemic.
Some of the people who are decorating the wall are relatives. Others are helpers.
They are drawing red hearts with paint pens to show their sadness for the people who have died. There are 150,000 hearts. There is a heart for every person that has died. None of the hearts are the same.
The wall is nearly two metres high and it will be nearly 1.5 kilometres long. It runs along the south side of London's Thames river. It starts at Westminster Bridge, opposite Big Ben, and it passes important buildings like the UK government buildings and St Thomas' Hospital.
The wall will be a monument to make sure we never forget all the people that have died from Covid-19.
