Man eats banana art - 11th December 2019 View All
Artist David Datuna was at the Art Basel show in Miami Beach on Saturday. He shocked visitors when he took a banana which was taped to the gallery wall. Then, he ate the banana.
The banana was a work of art which is called "Comedian". It is by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. He had sold the work of art for $120,000.
Peggy Leboeuf owns the gallery. She asked Datuna to leave the exhibition.
Peggy Leboeuf: "He was not arrested, but we asked him to leave the booth and to leave the fair. We have his contact and everything, so we can go further, but I don't think we will."
They replaced the banana and taped it to the wall 15 minutes later. Visitors started taking photos again.
