The Philharmonic Dining Rooms is a pub. It's in Liverpool in England. The Beatles liked to drink there. Now, it is on a special list of historic buildings.
Local people call the pub 'The Phil'. Architect Walter W Thomas built it in 1898. It has beautiful walls. Its windows have coloured glass. The rooms have beautiful decorations.
The Philharmonic Dining Rooms started as a dining room. It was only for men. The pub has amazing toilets.
John Lennon was in the Beatles. He had a problem. He couldn't drink in 'the Phil' anymore. He was too famous. This made him sad.
The Phil is now on a very special list of buildings. Buckingham Palace is on the same list.
Eamon Lavin is the pub manager. Eamon Lavin: "It's pretty rare to get a public venue, where you can walk into a venue, and see a Grade One listed status. Most venues you would go into, you have to walk around or you can't sit down, whereas in here you can just sit down and take in the architecture."
