Donald Trump will be the next President of the USA. But it was a race with lots of problems.
Kamala Harris was the Democratic candidate. She came into the race late, on 31st July. President Biden gave a terrible TV performance with Trump. After that, he had to give up.
Trump had a difficult journey to the White House. Two people tried to kill him. He was in trouble with the law too.
On 30th May, the courts said Trump broke the law. His crime? Before the 2016 election, Trump paid money to people. He wanted to stop them talking to the newspapers.
Trump will be the first US President to be a criminal. But his fans don't mind.
Zachary Rindfuss: "I was happy with him when he was in before and then he lost the second election. And I see, I think I've seen America really make a downfall, and I like, I'm, I'm glad he's back in."
But others were unhappy.
Will Brown: "I am definitely not okay with that - you know, you know, very disappointing. I actually can't believe he was even eligible to run again, you know, considering everything that, you know, he did, you know, just unbelievable."
Trump's Republican party is in a strong position. His party now controls the Senate and the House. So it's easy to make laws.
The results surprised one hospital worker.
Edwin Ortiz: "I knew it was going to be really close, 50/50. I didn't realize how far to one side it would've ended up being."
