Robots make moves on fashion scene - 8th June 2026 View All

A fashion show has dressed human models and humanoids in the same fashions for the first time. They walked the runway together in Mach 33: Physical AI Fashion Show. It was hosted by Galaxy Corporation at its Galaxy Robot Park in Seoul.

South Korea's a major producer of robots. Across the country, there are 1,012 robots per 10,000 people, which is one of the highest levels in the world.

We're used to seeing robots doing industrial and manufacturing work. However, they're now being used more often in social spaces.

This has brought more attention to robots' appearance, as how they look affects our feelings about them. For Choi Yong-ho, who's CEO of Galaxy Corporation, the goal is humans and robots living in harmony.

Choi Yong-ho: Galaxy Corporation dreams of a world where robots and humans coexist and live in symbiosis. I believe that someday, humans will copy the fashion worn by robots, and conversely, robots will wear the fashion worn by humans."

However, robot clothing isn't simply about fashion. Uniforms increase people's confidence in robot waiters doing a good job. They also protect robots from damage.

Robots that wear clothes in a lab environment help to keep themselves and the space clean. In wet or hazardous environments, clothes could prevent corrosion and protect sensors. Overall, this clothing can also be cleaned more easily too.

At Galaxy Robot Park, robots, AI and K-pop culture are combined for people's entertainment. The catwalk robots showed off their K-pop dance moves and took part in a boxing match. For this, they had to wear stylish satin shorts.

Galaxy's started Mach 33 as a humanoid fashion label. It's currently producing its first range of robot clothing, which will be on sale by the end of the year. View Less
