Kobe Bryant fatal helicopter crash

Kobe Bryant was a famous basketball player. He died in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

The helicopter crashed into a hill. When it crashed there was a fire. Everyone in the helicopter died. Bryant was with his 13 year old daughter, Gianna.

Bryant was 41 years old. He played basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers for 20 years. He was very successful. He won five NBA championships. He also won two Olympic gold medals.

Kobe Bryant also made an animated film. His animation 'Dear Basketball' won an Oscar in 2018. It was about the sport he loved.

Bryant's death shocked the world. Basketball stars and celebrities can't believe it.

His fans are very sad. Some fans visited the crash site.

Daniel Luchy, local resident: "There was plumes of smoke going up and you could see that there were already emergency personnel at the crash scene."

Chris Martin, local resident: "So I'm a pilot and I was scheduled to fly this morning and the conditions were 400 feet overcast, a half-mile visibility, mist and fog. It wasn't a condition that you'd want to fly in."
