There are lots of fires in Europe and North America. They're burning huge areas of forests. Temperatures are very high. The UK was 40 degrees Celsius for the first time.
People had to leave villages in Portugal. Marcio Rodrigues helped the firefighters.
Marcio Rodrigues: "We were in the village, where there were many people. We helped fight the flames near the village, which got really close. My uncle even had his house in danger. He stayed inside and the fire passed over him and he managed to save himself."
14,000 people had to leave their homes in France. In one area, 1,200 firefighters are trying to stop the fires.
The high temperatures are killing people in the mountains too. In Italy, part of an ice sheet broke off. 11 people died.
It's hot in the USA too. The northwest US is usually cold. But millions of people are using city cooling stations. The government's helping people in need.
California's giant redwood trees are in danger. Huge fires are moving towards Yosemite National Park.
The high temperatures come from climate change. The Climate Clock gives information about this. It now says we only have 7 years to stop pollution.
