The pandemic has upset the travel plans of millions around the world. However, "plane cafés" have taken off in Thailand to give locals the feel of a holiday trip.
A retired aeroplane has become a "plane café" in the coastal city of Pattaya. Passengers' boarding passes are scanned upon entry.
Customers can sip a relaxing coffee on comfy first class seats. Passengers fake holiday selfies with the café's carry on luggage. Some even take a turn in the pilot's place.
Another "plane café" at Thai Airways head office is perfect for hungry travellers who miss airline food. You can dine on spaghetti carbonara and Thai-style beef, which cabin crew deliver on plastic, in-flight trays.
Thailand was the first country, outside China, to close its borders. It's had a very low infection rate and fewer deaths from Covid 19. The government is now considering travel bubbles with countries which also have low disease rates.
In the meantime, welcome on board the plane café!
