Bruce Willis retires - 6th April 2022 View All
Famous Hollywood actor Bruce Willis is retiring. The news about the movie star was posted on Instagram. It said that Willis has aphasia. This is an illness which makes using language difficult.
Aphasia doesn't only make speaking and listening difficult. It also causes problems with reading and writing. Aphasia often begins after a brain injury. But occasionally, it starts slowly and gets worse over time.
Willis, now 67 years old, began his career in the 1980s. His character in the Die Hard films, action hero John McClane, brought him international fame. The Die Hard series has earned billions of dollars in ticket sales.
The Instagram post was signed by his wife Emma, ex-wife Demi Moore, and his five children. They wrote that "We are moving through this as a strong family". They shared the message with his fans because they know how important he is to them.
In a 2010 interview, Willis hadn't thought much about retiring.
Bruce Willis: "I don't think about it very much. I don't, it seldom crosses my mind to think about retiring. And I'm sure at some point, I'll either be retired by my own choice or not by my choice. I still like working and I still like doing what I do and I like the, the process of making films."
Unfortunately, Willis couldn't make the choice for himself.
