Zoom across an Icelandic glacier

This enormous bus transports tourists across Langjokull, Iceland's second largest glacier. The bus has 8 massive tyres and takes its name, Sleipnir, from Norse God Odin's horse, which had 8 legs.

The red glacier mega bus measures 15 metres in length. It can reach speeds of 60 kilometres per hour on the Langjokull ice cap.

Italian Rosella Greco is among the sightseers enjoying the tour.

Rosella Greco: "It, it feels really emotional and you are, like, touching something that it's so old, and you feel so in contact with the earth. I mean, it's like when you see the Colosseum or something so old."

The glacier dates back around 2,500 years and at its highest point reaches 1,450 metres. But it has been shrinking year on year. And this process looks set to continue.

Thorsteinn Thorsteinsson is a glaciologist at the Iceland Met office.

Thorsteinn Thorsteinsson: "If this continues in a similar way, or even in a still warmer climate, then it's very likely that all of Langjokull or maybe 80, 90 per cent of it will be gone by the end of this century, really."
